Who Is God (Part 8)

19 Thou givest thy mouth to evil, and thy tongue frameth deceit.

20 Thou sittest and speakest against thy brother; thou slanderest thine own mother's son.

21 These things hast thou done, and I kept silence; thou thoughtest that I was altogether such an one as thyself: but I will reprove thee, and set them in order before thine eyes.

22 Now consider this, ye that forget God, lest I tear you in pieces, and there be none to deliver.

23 Whoso offereth praise glorifieth me: and to him that ordereth his conversation aright will I shew the salvation of God.

💗💗💗

God had delivered the Israelites out of the hands of His enemies, the Egyptians in Exodus 12.

And what did they do?

They began to forget His provision.

And so they began to complain.

They were hungry.

They were thirsty.

No doubt they were tired of their trek in the wilderness,

now free from the slavery that had been subjected to for so long.

And eventually they had wanted to go back to what He had taken them out of.

But aren't we sometimes like they were?

When things don't go our way.

God must get tired of hearing our endless

list of complaints.

For a mate we haven't met yet.

For a job we don't get.

For a car we went.

But God was telling them in this passage that he was patient with them. He could see their torments. He understood their frustrations. After all, He had created them.

But then, its as if He finally had had enough and had to issue a warning to them. " Do not forget me"

Because if you do, it is not going to be pretty.

(my own interpretation)

But for those that are faithful.

For those that give God what He deserves.

In thanksgiving and glory to Him.

He gives them what they don't deserve.

The salvation of God.

And He does the same for us. I have seen it happen over and over in my life and in the life of others.

The Apostle Paul wrote this:

13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, 14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

Philippians 3:13-14

I think this passage is one that we should have written in black and white and taped to a place in our home where we can see it everyday.

So that we don't make the mistake or sin as it can be called,

of not only not forgetting God but praise Him.

And so we get to the question of Who is God.

He is our Provision.

His judgements are true, whether we like them or not.

But when we are faithful to Him

He is our Redeemer.

And that is who God is

Who Is God (Part 7)

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
Genesis 1:1

I really like yesterdays post from qotquestions.org.
Therefore I am going to go use some of what they have there to benefit us here.
Really, why should we not start at the very beginning what we know about God as recorded in Genesis 1:1?
That verse tells us the very first thing that God wanted mankind to know about Him.
It is as that post states.
He does not have to prove His existence to our world.
He has already done that by creating everything in it.
And yet, how many people that do not believe in Him,  want proof of something or in this case, Someone they can not see?
I once read a post a few years ago, that God is not hard to see. Not hard to find.
All we have to do is look around at what is here.
From creating the world, to humanity.
Why do they not see it?
It's true
And it is as they said in that post.
That is just fact.
He does exist.
The world and all that is in it, does exist.
We exist.
And one day those that know Him will see Him face to face.
If the disciples of Jesus thought He would come in their day,
how much closer is it that He will come in ours?
"Come quickly Lord Jesus"
(Revelation 22:20).
How do we know this?
Because at the very end of His word, He told us.
In fact, actually He warned us.
Because that is who God is.

Thanks for coming by today, Friends. Have a wonderful day!

Who is God? (Part 6)

For todays post, I am going to do something a bit differently in answer to the question of who God is.
It's not something that I have not done in the past.
In fact many times, I have used other sites that I trust to answer my questions.
And todays post comes from gotquestions.org because I think their answer to that is very good and spot on.
Continue reading below:

Who is God? - The Fact
The fact of God’s existence is so conspicuous, both through creation and through man’s conscience, that the Bible calls the atheist a “fool” (Psalm 14:1). Accordingly, the Bible never attempts to prove the existence of God; rather, it assumes His existence from the very beginning (Genesis 1:1). What the Bible does is reveal the nature, character, and work of God.

Who is God? - The Definition
Thinking correctly about God is of utmost importance because a false idea about God is idolatry. In Psalm 50:21, God reproves the wicked man with this accusation: “You thought I was altogether like you.” To start with, a good summary definition of God is “the Supreme Being; the Creator and Ruler of all that is; the Self-existent One who is perfect in power, goodness, and wisdom.”

Who is God? - His Nature
We know certain things to be true of God for one reason: in His mercy He has condescended to reveal some of His qualities to us. God is spirit, by nature intangible (John 4:24). God is One, but He exists as three Persons—God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit (Matthew 3:16-17). God is infinite (1 Timothy 1:17), incomparable (2 Samuel 7:22), and unchanging (Malachi 3:6). God exists everywhere (Psalm 139:7-12), knows everything (Psalm 147:5Isaiah 40:28), and has all power and authority (Ephesians 1Revelation 19:6).

Who is God? - His Character
Here are some of God’s characteristics as revealed in the Bible: God is just (Acts 17:31), loving (Ephesians 2:4-5), truthful (John 14:6), and holy (1 John 1:5). God shows compassion (2 Corinthians 1:3), mercy (Romans 9:15), and grace (Romans 5:17). God judges sin (Psalm 5:5) but also offers forgiveness (Psalm 130:4).

Who is God? - His Work
We cannot understand God apart from His works, because what God does flows from who He is. Here is an abbreviated list of God’s works, past, present, and future: God created the world (Genesis 1:1Isaiah 42:5); He actively sustains the world (Colossians 1:17); He is executing His eternal plan (Ephesians 1:11) which involves the redemption of man from the curse of sin and death (Galatians 3:13-14); He draws people to Christ (John 6:44); He disciplines His children (Hebrews 12:6); and He will judge the world (Revelation 20:11-15).

Who is God? - A Relationship with Him
In the Person of the Son, God became incarnate (John 1:14). The Son of God became the Son of Man and is therefore the “bridge” between God and man (John 14:61 Timothy 2:5). It is only through the Son that we can have forgiveness of sins (Ephesians 1:7), reconciliation with God (John 15:15Romans 5:10), and eternal salvation (2 Timothy 2:10). In Jesus Christ “all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form” (Colossians 2:9). So, to really know who God is, all we have to do is look at Jesus.
(see gotquestions.org for more on this study)

💖💖💖

God is so much more than our small minds can understand this side of heaven. Someday, we will have a better, clearer understanding. For now we have the greatest gift from Him. The salvation he offers, the sanctification that begins and continues throughout our lives and so much more. We thank Him for salvation but that is not the end of what He offers those that love him. It is the most important to be sure. His forgiveness our sin.

But it goes on until we meet Him in Heaven where it will be even more glorious.

I sometimes wonder why a person would reject all that He is. Are they ignorant? Were they just never taught? Are they foolish as He calls some? Would they just rather want to do their own thing because they believe they would miss out on the fun life offers. (Ugh)

The answers to all of that is probably all the above and even more.

Still its not for me to want to miss Heaven and God. I will have spent more time up there than I ever did here on earth. Life here is but a vapor in comparison and though I am certainly not perfect and make mistakes and sin, I know God is still on the throne of my heart and forgives me.

What about you? Can you know God like that? I hope so for He is the hope of a wicked and perverse generation.

What more can we ask for? What more can we hope for?

Thanks for coming by today, Friends. God bless you this day!

POST UPDATE 7/28

Hello Friends, I am so glad I can be back and posting again. I have just been through a trial that could have turned out much worse than it did. I won't try to tell you about it because it is one of those personal things. But I felt like you-as my friends as well of those that I know personally prayed for me during this time. Thank those of you that took the time to be praying for me.

For today's post, I went to Psalm 139. and Davids heartfelt prayer to his God. The awesomeness of our God is so great that we too can share in these words of expression to him. It is so amazing to me, and it was something for years I really did not understand. Its only been in more recent years that I have realized just how much more near to God we can be if only we let ourselves be taught by Him.

I so wish that for so many that are going through troubled times. Sometimes life is just not easy, nor is it always fair.

But God is always fair and it's through those hard times we can have an easier time in order to get through them. Because knowing the things that David believed and being thankful for all things, makes it so. Even if we don't see it at the time. Its like a peace I only discovered in more recent years that I can say that.

But please don't misunderstand what I am saying. I am not perfect and do not pretend to be. I think in some respects I have learned the secret that the Apostle Paul did. I have learned to be content in whatever situation I am in. Even in this latest trial. I knew God was with me and that gave me so much peace.

I appreciate those of you that have come here still, knowing there was going to be any new posts for a few days. Still, you had a need to see what God used to give you hope for another day.

I pray though that you don't stop here. But that you will get into the Bible yourself.

Also, there are many godly men on YouTube whose teachings have helped me in my own walk with the Lord. For me, it has been (for the past 3 ears) a daily part of what I do. I hope you will take advantage of those programs if you don't already do so.

Again Friends, thank you. For your prayers and for coming here. I pray for you as well that God will be a blessing to you in all His ways as you walk with Him.

Posted 7?22 Hi Friends. It is with regret that I will still not be able to be posting anything again for a few more days. I am going through a serious situation which if you will, please be praying for me. And I thank you, if you do. It is not a health concern. It is something else. I hope to be back again by Monday or Tuesday of the upcoming week.

This is one of those trials that we know are enviable in our Christians Walk with God. I know He will get me through it as he has so many things in my life. I just need to have the faith that as my mom used to say, "This too shall pass." And I believe it will.

Thanks for coming here every day. I so much appreciate you for taking your precious time out to see what God speaks to us from His Word. And then from my own thoughts as well which are not anything to what He tells us in the Bible.

I will be back soon! God bless you all!

Who is God ? (part 5) update (new)

God is our Help

Psalms 121:1-8

121 I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.

My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.

He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.

Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.

The Lord is thy keeper: the Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand.

The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.

The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.

The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.

Hello Friends. I have had a not-so-great week so I will not be adding anything to today's topic. I plan to on my next post which will be Wednesday July 23rd, .as things are improving but I do have some things going on Monday and Tuesday. I just wanted you to know this and thank you for your patience. I would appreaciate your prayers for me, if you would like to. Thank you.

Thanks for coming by today
God bless you and yours!

psalm 139:1-24

139 O lord, thou hast searched me and known me.

Thou knowest my down sitting and mine uprising, thou understands my thought afar off.

Thou compasses my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways.

For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O Lord, thou knowest it altogether.

Thou hast beset me behind and before and laid thine hand upon me.

Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it.

Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence?

If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.

If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea;

10 Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.

11 If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me.

12 Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee.

13 For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother's womb.

14 I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.

15 My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.

16 Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.

17 How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them!

18 If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee.

19 Surely thou wilt slay the wicked, O God: depart from me therefore, ye bloody men.

20 For they speak against thee wickedly, and thine enemies take thy name in vain.

21 Do not I hate them, O Lord, that hate thee? and am not I grieved with those that rise up against thee?

22 I hate them with perfect hatred: I count them my enemies.

23 Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:

24 And see if there be any wicked way in me and lead me in the way everlasting.

Thanks for coming by today, friends. Have a blessed day!!!
