Who is God (Part 15)

 5 This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. I John 1:5

It doesn't take much to see that we live in a dark world that grows darker every day. Thank God He is the Light of the world and if we follow Him, He will lead us out of the darkness and down the right path to Him.

There are other Bible verses that tells us of His light. Maybe you will want to check them out for yourself:

John 8:12, John 12:46, and Revelation 21:23 are just a few.

Who Is God (Part 14)

6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 14:6

Jesus always tells the truth. And He is also our life because there is no other way to get to the Father, except by Him.

That includes Mohammad, Budda, or even Mother Mary as she is called by many people. 

It does no good to pray to any of these false gods or any other saints from the Bible. They can not lead us to the One that died for our sins.

He is IT friends. The way, the truth and the Life.

Who is God (Part 13)

 4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,

5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved; Ephesians 2:4-5

Have you ever known God to be rich in mercy in your life?

Have you ever felt His great love for you?

Wow, I have.

There have been many times that He has shown me these things in my life.

But I think the time that I felt this more than any other

Was the night that my daughter showed up at my door about midnight to tell me that her dad (my husband of 52 years, had passed away.

What a shock.

Yes, it had been. But in the days that followed-preparing for his funeral service and taking care of the things that needed to be done, I knew that God had showed up to provide everything I needed even though grief was heavy in my heart.

Through my kids. Through my friends. But even more so, through His Word and my worship of Him.

And my biggest hope comes from the knowlege that I will see him again and I know He is abiding with Jesus and happier than he has ever been.

All of these come from my Lord and Saviour because we know that its because of His love and mercy.

Because that is who God is!

Who is God (Part 12)

 31 Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead. Acts 17:31

God is just. But what does that mean?

The definition of justice: 

Justice is the ethical, philosophical idea that people are to be treated impartially, fairly, properly, and reasonably by the law and by arbiters of the law, that laws are to ensure that no harm befalls another, and that, where harm is alleged, a remedial action is taken - both the accuser and the accused receive a . And so what message does Act 17:31 give us?

Acts 17:31 is a pivotal verse in Paul's sermon on Mars Hill, emphasizing God's judgment of the world through a man He has appointed, Jesus, whom He raised from the dead. It signifies the end of a period of "ignorance" and the beginning of a call to repentance based on the Jesus' resurrection. Hello Friends. One day the time of ignorance to God's Word will end. Those that call the Bible, a fable will find it is no fable. Those that do not believe in hell, will find themselves in hell.

But those that have truly repented and lived their lives serving Jesus, will find that heaven is no fable either. 

But it is a place where they will abide forever with our Creator and all those that have turned from their sin to be forgiven for it. 

It is coming, Friends. God is a just God. And he will also keep all of his promises. For those that have not repented. And those that have!

Who is God (Part 11}

 

6 And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunder, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigns.

This chapter contains the triumph of the saints over Babylon, and their thanksgiving to God because of his judgments on her; the marriage of Christ and his church, and a battle between him and his and her enemies, with the success of it. 

That's who God is!

Jesus has all power and authority! And all people will no longer be able to deny that when this verse takes place. But the bad news is, it will be too late for some  people. That is why we need to be ready NOW! Because we never know when our time is up or this time will come !

Who Is God (Part 10)

God never changes

 6 For I am the Lord, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.  (Malachi 3:6)

He is everywhere

7 Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall m thy presence?

8 If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.

9 If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea;

10 Even there shall thy hnd lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.

11 If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me.I flee fro

12 Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee. (Psalm 139:7-12)

Hello Friends. It's true. We can not hide from God. He wants all to come to receive His gift of eternal life. And if we do not see Him, we may be blinded by drugs, alcohol, greed, or any other sinful lust that the world offers. 

And if we choose not to accept Him, it will lay on our shoulders at the end of our lives. 

He will tell us at that time, "Depart from me. I never knew you."

That is a promise, because He never changes.  And because...

...that is who God is.

Who Is God (part 9)

 

23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.

24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. (John 4:23-24}

We all know that God is Spirit, Right?

I saw a video last week on Youtube and I can't tell you which one because I didn't keep track of it. 

But the one that made the video made this statement:

Stop calling the Holy Spirt a ghost because He is not a ghost.

I myself do not call the Holy Spirit a ghost.

And I don't know of anyone that does. But there are probably some people-and maybe many that do.

And I agree with this man. 

God is not a ghost.

He is a Spirit.

He is One.

But He exists as three persons.

God the Father,

God the Son,

God the Ho

He is:

infinite (1 Timothy 1:17), incomparable (2 Samuel 7:22), and unchanging (Malachi 3:6). God exists everywhere (Psalm 139:7-12), knows everything (Psalm 147:5; Isaiah 40:28), and has all power and authority (Ephesians 1; Revelation 19:6)

These are His nature.

Of course, we don't understand how God can be One and yet have 3 personalities. Maybe some day in glory, we will be able to.

But for today and until we get there, we have to take His Word for it.

Because unlike Him, our minds cannot fathom that. And it is not for us to understand it to know. At least for now.

But He has chosen to to give us enough information to go by. Because....

... that is who God is.
