Bucket List (No 3)

3. Write and send more handwritten old-fashioned letters.

I realize we are in the age of technological communication. But there’s something far more meaningful about receiving a card or letter in the mail than an email (especially those addressed to several people at once), or a text message that can easily be erased. Hand-written letters and cards can be saved through the years, and held, smelled, and treasured.

Imagine receiving a letter from a loved one written shortly before they passed away. That is something you might hold onto, right? Maybe even read a portion of it at their memorial service? Keep in mind that as you write encouraging letters to others, you are recording and leaving bits and pieces of your heart that loved ones might otherwise have longed to recall.

Revelation 20:11-15

11 I saw a large, white throne and the one who was sitting on it. The earth and the sky fled from his presence, but no place was found for them. 12 I saw the dead, both important and unimportant people, standing in front of the throne. Books were opened, including the Book of Life. The dead were judged on the basis of what they had done, as recorded in the books. 13 The sea gave up its dead. Death and hell gave up their dead. People were judged based on what they had done. 14 Death and hell were thrown into the fiery lake. (The fiery lake is the second death.) 15 Those whose names were not found in the Book of Life were thrown into the fiery lake.

Revelation 20:11-15 depicts the final judgment, where all people are judged by God, and those not found in the Book of Life face eternal separation from Him.

The Great White Throne

The Books and the Book of Life

The dead are judged according to their deeds as recorded in these books, highlighting accountability for actions and moral choices godsbless.ing+2. Those whose names are not in the Book of Life are cast into the lake of fire, representing the second death and eternal separation from God (Revelation 20:14-15) godsbless.ing+1.

Resurrection and Judgment

The passage mentions that the sea, Death, and Hades give up the dead, indicating a universal resurrection where all people, regardless of status, face judgment (Revelation 20:13) godsbless.ing+1. Thanks for coming by this morning, Friends. Is your name written in the Lamb's Book of Life? If so, your place in Heaven with Jesus, is secure. If not, it is imperative that you ask Jesus into your life, because come judgement day, you will wish you had.

Have a blessed day!
