Discernment: So necessary!

How to Pray Through the Entire Year – One Month at a Time

 Dec 29, 2025

September: Pray for wisdom to discern the truth.

September, with its transition back to routine and learning, is an important time for you to focus on praying for the wisdom to discern the truth. In this fallen world, where you often hear conflicting messages, you need God’s help to distinguish between what’s true and what’s false, as well as what messages are coming from God and what is not. Pray for a strong commitment to God's word, the Bible, which reveals God’s truth. Psalm 119:105 says: “Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.” Ask the Holy Spirit to be your constant teacher and guide as you try to figure out what’s worth paying attention to, and how to make wise decisions day by day.

Pray specifically for the discernment you need to make the best choices in every part of your life. Also, pray for courage to stand up for the truth, even when doing that is unpopular or challenging for you. Praying for wisdom to discern the truth during September will help you keep learning and growing in your relationship with God.

While all the other kinds of prayers that are stated in these articles, this one is especially important.

Jesus himself warned us of the false teachers that are in the world that would try to deceive us.

And they are still here today. Turning an alarming number away from the truth, because they make false claims and promise to rob people of their money.

If you have been with me long, you know that I have covered this before. And I know I have not done the justice that this topic deserves.

If you haven't before, do a study on this subject.

There are many YouTube channels dedicated to calling out these people that would willingly steal your last penny for their good, not yours.

Friends, we have to know who it is that we are listening to.

Don't take just any one's word that they have the truth.

Fact check them against the Bible, to avoid the deceit that they preach. Don't just take them (including myself) at their word.

They may sound good.

They may make promises and prophesies that never come true.

But if a false teacher's prophesy's do not come true, and they say something that God did not say, you can know to stop listening to them.

They will lead you away from the truth in everything he says.

Look it up.

Deuteronomy 18:22

I include myself in telling you this.

Make sure what I am telling you is the truth.

Don't just take my word. Compare it with the Bible.

It is too important.

It could mean your eternal judgement to follow someone that is telling you lies.

Especially if they are at the same time, robbing you of your money.

Thanks for coming today, Friends.

Have a blessed day!
