Rest for the Weary Soul

How to Pray Through the Entire Year – One Month at a Time

 Dec 29, 2025

June marks the beginning of summer, which is often a busy time with fun activities like travel. This month is an important time to pray for help from the Holy Spirit to rest during all the excitement, so you can be as healthy as possible spiritually, mentally, and physically. Pray for protection while you travel, and also for protection from becoming so busy that you neglect your relationship with God. Do your best to follow the example Jesus set of how to rest well in order to focus well on what matters most.

Make it a priority to get enough sleep every night, and be encouraged by Psalm 4:8: “In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety.” Ask God to help you set healthy boundaries for work and leisure, so you can have enough time every day to rest well and recharge your energy to live every day God gives you to the fullest.

Hello, Friends. All of these articles have been really good prayer advice. And this one today is no less important for us.

As is said, even Jesus knew the importance of rest. With the worries of the world, and our own everyday problems can tend to forget them for a while just to relax?

To dwell in God's safety as David of old did.

I know an elderly woman that even though she is a Christian, she has never been fully able to do that. The holidays come and it throws her into her past where she was happy. And then things eventually began to change for her, and she can't let it go. Even though she is living a fairly, albeit not perfect (whose life is perfect?), good life.

Most of us have times like that. Happy until tragedy or other situations arise.

Some of us get through them okay, and some of us don't.

Spending time to rest, have fun, be with family, is a wonderful thing that can keep those happy times continue.

Put with that is sticking close to the Savior that knew Himself the importance of rest and it makes so much difference.

Not that we still don't go through mourning or sadness. No, those times still try to creep up on us. But, learning not to stay in them but to determine to move on despite them, and even thanking God for the ability to do so, is good for our soul too. To let ourselves in body and spirit heal from those things that would keep us down.

Something that my friend, has never allowed herself to do.

Sadly, so many people aren't able to or perhaps don't want to because maybe they feel guilty for wanting that...

Thanks for coming by today, Friends. Have a wonderful and blessed day!
