How to Pray Through the Entire Year – One Month at a Time
August: Pray for God’s provision and trust.
SLIDE 8 OF 12
As summer winds down and the harvest season starts, August is a great time to focus your prayers on God’s generous provision for you, and to strengthen your trust in God for the future. You can’t stop worries from entering your mind, but you can choose what to do with those anxious thoughts. Whenever you notice that you’re worrying about something – like your family, health, or job – turn your worries into prayers and choose to trust God to handle each of those situations. Pray for a strong faith to really believe that God will meet every single one of your needs, in the best ways, and at the best times. Jesus advises you in Matthew 6:33 to focus on your relationship with God and trust that God will give you everything you need as you do so: “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”
Pray for the peace and confidence of knowing that you have a perfectly trustworthy Heavenly Father who loves you completely and unconditionally. Ask God to help you recognize the ways he has already provided for you in the past, and let that gratitude build your faith for the present and future. Pray for contentment with what you have, and the discernment to manage those resources faithfully. Focusing on God’s provision during August will help you strengthen your ability to trust him throughout the year.
💝💝💝
Sometimes, trusting God to work things out in our lives isn't easy. We think that somehow, we have to figure out our own problems. That can often plunge us head on into even more trouble that we had in the first place.
But God wants us to lean not on our own understanding and trust in Him, and he will direct the ways we should go. Proverbs 3:5-6
As we do this, we can begin to see how He will work out the details of our lives, and those details can become miracles.
How do I know this? Because it has happened in my own life. And it can for you, as well!
Thanks for coming by, Friends. Have a blessed day!
