Love One Another

Dear Friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whosoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.This is how God showed his love among us. He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love not that we loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear Friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God,but if we love one another, God lives is in us and his love is made complete in us. 1 John 4:7-12

Hello Friends. God's love is so great for us. Not because we loved him, but because he first loved us. And his kind of love is so needed in today's world with all the anger and hostility that has been going on these days. If God is really is in us, we should put off the sin of hatefulness and unforgiveness and truly show his love to those around us and pray for our enemies. Because that is what he tells us in his word to do. Sometimes that is not easy. But we can do it or he would not ask us to.  Thanks for coming by. Until next time,....

Where Are Our Affections?

If you then, be  risen with Christ, seek those things which are above,  where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affections on things above, not on things of the earth. For you are dead, and you life is hid with Christ. When Christ who is our life, shall appear, then you shall also appear with him in glory.  Colossians 3:1-4

The things of earth will pass away at some point. Only those that trust in God, and ask him into their lives,  will spend eternity with him. In our everyday living here, we must continually look up to him. He is our only hope of salvation.

You Are My Strong Fortress...Psalm 3

Scripture for today:

How much do you know about the bible? Each day, I am going to try to ask a question about a fact that some will know and maybe some will just be newcomers to the bible and may want to learn. I will ask a question and bible reference and then maybe you will want to look it up for yourselves. Each answer will be given the following day, and a new question will be added. No Excuse

I know someone that tries hard to do what God wants her to. She has been going through some hard things all her life. Alll during her life, after becoming a Christian, God has  been with her meeting her needs and answering her prayers.

Still, in struggling with life and its problems, she doesn't always stay right where she needs to. Knowing with out a shadow of a doubt that God will continue to be right there with her, working on behalf, even when she can't see his work.

At night she worries too much she can barely get to sleep. So she puts on Christian music to help her go to sleep. And in the mornings, as soon as her eyes open, her problems are there again, and she has already let the enemy start his work on her to worry, or be angry instead of waking up with the joy that God wants her to start the day off with..

Oh, she may get up, splash some water on her face, fix her a cup of coffee and sit down to read her devotions for the day. But what good does devotions do, if she does not take them to heart to apply them for the day: And instead, go right back to worrying, or whatever the enemy would throw at her at the time

But aren't we all like that sometimes? Most times, even. The battles within us start the first thing in the morning and really the best thing we can do to ward them off, is to remember that God's mercy is new every morning.because he loves us, and his faithfulness is great. Lamentations 3:22-23.

No matter what we are going through, but yes they may be there in the morning, just as they were the night before, but so is God's faithfulness and his greatness.

Going forth in the day, and not letting ourselves get down and knowing that the joy of the Lord is our strength.  Nehemiah 8:10

Because instead of giving in to satan's attacks,  God's promises can help us get through the struggles of the day.

And remembering that this is the day that Lord has made, let us rejoice in it, as Psalm 118:24 says.
His gift to us each morning is that as we open our eyes is that, he has made it just for us.

There really is no excuse we can have to let satan have our day. Or any day when we remember to acknowledge and do our best to stay on track with God's word. Even when we aren't actually doing devotions or reading God's word. There are too many scriptures that we can have hidden away in our hearts, to think on to let our joy be stolen.

Even in the worst of times.

And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Finally brothers, whatsoever is true, whatever is honorable whatsoever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatsoever is admirable,  if anything is ever excellent or praiseworthy-think on these things...
and the peace of God will be with you. Philippians 4:8-9

And: He will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind stays on the Lord because he trusts thee. Isaiah 26:3

 Easy? Not always? We are imperfect people that struggles each day just to get through it. And God understands it even though there is really.....

No Excuse

No Condemnation!

There is therefore, now no condemnation for those that's in Christ Jesus. For the law of the spirit alive in Christ Jesus has set me free from the law of sin and death. Romans 8:1 & 2.

Well, that may be what the bible says, but its not true for me. I have done too many bad things for God to forgive me. So I am under his condemnation and might as well go on living life the way I have.

Right?

Wrong!!!!!

Once we confess our sin to him, and accept his mercy into our sinful life, he is faithful and just to forgiven us 

sin and all we have done, and we are no longer under condemnation,but are released from the things we have done.We are no longer held under the guilt and shame of those things.

It's why Jesus came. To die for us and take away our sin. 

Because, without the shedding of blood, there is no remission (forgiveness) for sin. 

(Hebrew 9:22)

And Jesus had to provide his blood to be shed for our sin because he was the only one that could do it. I mean, what human in his right mind, would volunteer to hang on a cross, beaten and ridiculed, and suffer such a painful death, than Jesus? It took someone that could.

And because of what he did, once we accept his forgiveness for it, we are no longer condemned, but have been freed from hell's clutches. We can then claim the promises of God and get to spend eternity with Christ.

What then, shall we say then? Shall we continue to sin, that grace may abound? God forbid....Romans 8:1-2

Let sin therefore not reign in your mortal body. that you obey its lust. (vs 12)

For sin shall have no dominion over you for you are no longer under the law but under grace. What then, shall we sin because we are no longer under the law but under grace? God forbid. (vs,14-15)

But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, you have fruit into holiness, and the end everlasting  life. For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is everlasting life through Christ Jesus. ( vs.22-23)

And so you see Friends, if you are a christian and struggling with the guilt or shame of past or present sin, there is no condemnation from God. He is not condemning you to what you have done, or are doing. He is always here to forgive and so do not let satan steal from you your obedience and forgiveness of God. We are all sinners. we do sin everyday. But we do not have to let it control us because Jesus paid the price for what what we have done, and he gave to us what we don't deserve.

Our Sovereign Lord

Ah, Sovereign Lord , you have made the heavens and earth by your great power and out stretched arm. Nothing is too hard for you. You show your love to thousands, but bring your punishment to the parents sins into the laps of the children that come after them. Great and mighty God, whose name is the Lord Almighty, great are your purposes and mighty are your deeds. Your eyes are open to the ways of all mankind; you reward each person by their conduct and as deeds deserve. Jeremiah 32:17-19. 

Hello Friends. Thanks for coming by today. Is there anything too hard for God? No. But does he care enough even in the little things that we can trust him? Do you wonder if he is listening to you? Do you think that because you want something that is small compared to other things, that it has no value or importance to God and therefore, he won't answer it, so you don't even ask?

God loves blessing us and even in small things that we don't think matters to him, he does hear us and he can answer our prayers. James 4:2 says we have not because we haven't asked.

That doesn't always mean that when we ask him, he is obligated to give it to us immediately or even at all.. But if it his will to give it, he will when the time is right. Sometimes we just have to be patient and trust that he knows what we need and will give it to us at an appointed time.
