The End-Time Antichrist: A Different Profile
Let’s take a closer look at the biblical profile of the end-time Antichrist, who is also known as the man of sin, the son of perdition, the beast, and the lawless one. These prophetic descriptions paint a chilling portrait of a coming world leader who will rise during the end times and lead a final rebellion against Yahweh and His people. This should then help us answer the question, “Is Trump the Antichrist?
1. He Will Come from Europe, Not the United States
- Key Scriptures: Daniel 7, Revelation 13
Many Bible scholars agree that the Antichrist will rise from a revived Roman Empire, which primarily refers to parts of modern-day Europe. This belief is drawn from the imagery in the book of Daniel, where the prophet has a vision of four beasts representing four world empires (Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece, and Rome).
- In Daniel 7, the fourth beast (representing Rome) has ten horns, symbolizing ten kings or kingdoms that arise from this empire.
- Out of these horns, another “little horn” rises—this is the Antichrist.
- This little horn uproots three kings and speaks blasphemies against the Most High (Daniel 7:8, 25).
Because this horn comes from the Roman beast, it suggests the Antichrist’s origin will be tied to the European region—not from America, Africa, or Asia.
In Revelation 13, the beast rising from the sea also has ten horns and seven heads, echoing the imagery in Daniel. The sea often symbolizes the nations or Gentile powers (Revelation 17:15), further pointing to a geopolitical rise among established global powers, likely centered in Europe.
2. He Will Forge a 7-Year Peace Treaty with Israel, Only to Break It Halfway
- Key Scripture: Daniel 9:27
Daniel’s prophecy outlines a specific timeline for end-time events. One of the most critical prophecies says:
“He will confirm a covenant with many for one ‘seven.’ In the middle of the ‘seven’ he will put an end to sacrifice and offering…”
—Daniel 9:27 (NIV)
This “seven” refers to a period of seven years—a final “week” of years in Daniel’s seventy-week prophecy. The Antichrist will establish a peace agreement with Israel and “many,” possibly including surrounding nations. This treaty might appear to usher in peace in the Middle East—a feat that has long eluded global leaders.
However, after 3.5 years, the Antichrist will break the covenant. He will end temple sacrifices and desecrate the sanctuary—this is often referred to as the “abomination of desolation” (Matthew 24:15, 2 Thessalonians 2:4). What begins as peace will turn into unprecedented betrayal and persecution.
