1 John 3

 

3 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore, the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.

2 Beloved now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

3 And every man that hath this hope in him purified himself, even as he is pure.

4 Whosoever committeth sin transgressed also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.

5 And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.

6 Whosoever abided in him sinned not: whosoever sinned hath not seen him, neither known him.

7 Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.

8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

10 In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.

11 For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.

12 Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brothers righteous.

13 Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you.

14 We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.

15 Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.

16 Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.

17 But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?

18 My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.

19 And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him.

20 For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things.

21 Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God.

22 And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.

23 And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.

24 And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.

Psalm 2:1-2

 2 Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?

2 The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord, and against his anointed, saying,

3 Let us break their bands asunder and cast away their cords from us.

4 He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.

5 Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure.

6 Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.

7 I will declare the decree: the Lord hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.

8 Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.

9 Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.

10 Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth.

11 Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling.

12 Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.

 Good morning friends. In my Bible study this morning I found I had made a mistake in my post on July 27th.  The scripture reference I gave in Psalms was incorrect but I have now corrected it. I am so sorry  and pray. that it did not confuse you! Thank you for your patience with me.

1 Peter 3:15

 

But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asks you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear. Romans 3:15

Micha 6:8

  He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God? Micha 6:8

There are times in my life, where I have wondered what God is doing in my life. And what am I supposed to be doing in this season in which I find myself.

Friends, the Holy Word of God, is where we find our answers. Because indeed, he has given us the answers for our lives there. And I think the very basic in our walk with Him comes from Micha 6:8.

We may not always know where we are going. Or what we are to do. But we do need to practice our faith. To let His Word be our guide.

If we don't, then what good is just reading the Bible? It's our self-help book. Unlike those of the world that wants to teach us the wrong ways to go, we can have the confidence that the Bible is the first place we should go. And maybe the only one as well.

Indeed, we are to do justly, love mercy and to walk humbly with our Father in heaven. 

But how do we do these things?

Walking justly is having a sense of right and wrong. God Himself is a just God.

That is why he sends those to hell if they do not accept his free gift of salvation, 

So, we must start there. The acceptance of His gift.

Next, we are to love mercy. We must show our love to others. Not just for those that are easy to love. But what about those that are not easy to love?

Do we work in a food pantry for the needy and then behind their backs resent them because they are getting free food when for years, we have worked hard for what we have gotten or achieved?

Granted, there are many that do take advantage of the system. But we are not to question why? Unless we can offer then help or the hope in God. He simply tells us to feed them.. Read what Romans 12:20 says:

To the contrary, “if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink...

Lastly in this passage, we are to walk humbly with our God. But what does that mean?

It means to be in a close relationship with Him. To understand His greatness and our own frailties To be humble and not prideful.

To do these things, it sometimes takes practice. But they are what God requires of each of us. And when the day comes that we actually get to stand before Him, He will reward us for what we have done on earth. Mathew 5:12

Job 19:25

Good morning, Friends

I am so thankful to God for His love. And His help. The end of February has been...well not so great. I have gone through some personal situations that would have sent me spiraling downward if I had not been able to go to the Lord and count on Him. 

At the same time, someone in my family was going through her own trial and I tried to be there to support her.

I have to be honest with you. I do not like the trials that God sometimes lets us go through.

But in the midst of it all, I can also honestly say that my trials, my family member's trials do not compare to those of Job in the Old Testament.

He lost everything he had. His family. His wealth. Even his health suffered.

Yes, it seems he complained to me. 

And yet, these were his words in the midst of it all:

For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth   Job 19:25

We often complain about our daily problems in this life. And granted they are not fun. And sometimes like Job's problems, they can be devastating to us. 

But just like Job, we can share with him the good news of it. That as Jesus said in John 16:33, "In the world we will have troubles, but take heart for I have overcome the world."

One day our troubles will end just like they did Job. And we will be with Jesus forever.

Boy, do I look forward to that day in my life. I am thankful for the hope that is in me.

In the meantime, I rejoice that I can also say, " I know that my Redeemer lives."

I pray that no matter what you are facing today, if anything-that you too have that hope.

Because Friends, it is the best thing we can have in these days whereby life sometimes gives us trouble.

 Hello Friends

I have had a restful time with my family. And now it will be soon time to get back to posting again. I plan to start back Wednesday March 5th. Thanks for coming here everyday.
