Who is God? (Part two)

 26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

Friends, as we know we are living in a crazy mixed-up world. The Bible gives a warning in Isahia 5:20-21 about calling evil good. People that are wise in their own sight. 

Do not be deceived. God created man and woman. He did not create all of these other so-called identities that people call themselves in these days.

Let me be clear. I am not against people over 18 to do what they want with their own bodies. Even though I do not agree with what they do, they have that right. But to allow and encourage young underage and impressionable children to buy into that nonsense is appalling. And disgusting in my view. It goes against every fiber of nature that God has instilled in us from the very beginning. 

He created man and woman. 

He said it again: Created He them. 

And over time, the enemy has creeped in making a mockery of God's creation and a lot of that we are seeing today as people that post grievous stuff all over the internet.

Who is God in this, my Friends?

He is indeed a God of love: ! John 4:7

But God is much more than that as we study His word each day. 

He does not want us caught up into the evil of this world by ignoring His word and doing and believing any old thing that comes along. 

Satan, the liar of all lies is also the roaring lion masquerading as the angel of light, seeking whom he can devour.  2 Corinthians 11:14, 1 Peter 5:8

So, Friends, be careful of who you listen to. Check out what you hear with God's word. From anyone. Even from me. I try to stick to the scriptures in all I do. But I can make mistakes. So always check out what I am writing to make sure I am lining up with God's word.

And always check out the pastors and everyone that is teaching biblical subjects. Because there are some whose teachings don't include the whole of the Bible. There are many that are out there.

Who is God?

But who is God? What are His characteristics? Who is He to us? Who is He to you? His Word gives us a lot of information about Him which we will explore in the next few days.

We start at the very beginning of scripture:

He is creator of the universe. 

1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. Gensis 1:1

It can't get more basic than that. Or can it? Now I know for most of us, this can be considered the old news of the bible. We all have heard the story of creation over and over. But it doesn't hurt to go back and read again, the absolute miracles of a Holy God. With that in mind, let's see what else He did the rest of the week that he had begun to create the heaven and earth.

2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.

5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.

6 And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.

7 And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.

8 And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.

9 And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.

10 And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good.

11 And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.

12 And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

13 And the evening and the morning were the third day.

14 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:

15 And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.

16 And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.

17 And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth,

18 And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good.

19 And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.

20 And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.

21 And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

22 And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.

23 And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.

24 And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so.

25 And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

Trusting in Jesus (20)

 

13 Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost. Romans 15:13

If all we have left in our life is hope, hope in Jesus Christ is all we need, friends. That is to have joy and peace in our lives. But it has be in our Savior, not in any other thing. 

I hope you have hope today in the One that came down from Heaven to give you new life. To give you joy unspeakable. To give you what the world can't.

He paid a cruel price to obtain that for you, me and the world. Why would we ignore and reject it for "stuff." Stuff that doesn't satisfy.

Say "no" to that stuff and "yes" to the Giver of Life!

Happy July 4th!

 

I have heard there is some grumbling about celebrating our nations birthday coming out of Washington D.C. It's appalling. Especially coming from those that are from other countries that migrated here and have made lots of money in this country just to put down this country. Of course, then there are those that have left here because they couldn't stand our president who is more for this country than they will ever be. 

I am proud of this country. I am proud to be an American. God gave us this land and what a gift to be in a country where we have a lot of freedoms that many others don't.

For those that don't love this country, let them go. We do not need them here. We do not want them here with their hatred and disdain.

Like many of you, I have had family members fight for the US. Some even were at the front lines defending us. 

It's not that we like war. Or that we want it. But thank God we have had people willing to die so that we can be free.

Because, at the cost of their lives-freedom for them was not free. 

If you are out and about today and see a service member that has been or is now a service member-thank them for their service. There is far too many of those people that were and are ridiculed for doing what many people perhaps took the cowards way out by not serving.

I will also add to that all the first responders, fire, police, Emergency people, etc. that rush to help save people that need it. Don't forget them. 

And then don't forget to thank God today for all that He has done for you, as you live in the greatest nation of the world. 

Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people he chose for his inheritance. Psalm 33:12

Trusting in Jesus (19)

 

Oh Lord, lead us to the Rock that is higher that we are.

(Psalm 61:2)

Especially for those whose hearts are overwhelmed right now. In this moment.

Give us the peace that passes all of our understanding, which guards our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

(Philippians 4:7)

Trusting in Jesus (18)

11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

12 Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.

13 And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.

14 And I will be found of you, saith the Lord: and I will turn away your captivity, and I will gather you from all the nations, and from all the places whither I have driven you, saith the Lord; and I will bring you again into the place whence I caused you to be carried away captive. Jeremiah 29:11-14

With war and rumors of war raging all about us, we can take heart that God still sits on His throne. He is not surprised at what is taking place. In fact, Jesus said it would. But He also made promises to us that He will save those that have turned to Him. 

Friends, that is what we can count on above all else. Praise God!!!
