38 And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her.38 Luke 1: 38
This was Mary's response to the angel that had brought the word that she was to have a son and why it was to be.
God does not always give us the reasons for the how and why He lets things happen to us.
But He did Mary that day. This was no surprise to Him. No, uh Oh's.
And you know what?
She accepted it knowing that the road ahead in this situation would not be easy.
What was she to tell her parents? Her friends?
And even worse, what would she tell Joseph her husband to be?
He would think she had been with another man. He could have her stoned to death.
However, she was obedient to God's calling on her life.
And she fully trusted Him.
It's a valuable message that comes down through the ages when we to are faced with a hard situation.
The thing is, we don't always know what God is doing in our lives.
But He wants the same kind of obedience from us that Mary had given Him.
It may be blind trust on our part. But it isn't for Him.
He is not surprised. He does not go, Uh Oh.
But He leads us by an invisible hand to wherever He is taking us.
Because in the end, just like Mary the journey is worth the outcome.
Thanks for coming by today, Friends. Have a blessed day!
