I woke up at 3 am this morning EST. With the election over with and seemingly things have settled down for just a few minutes and at least until Trump takes the White House again, I wasn't sure where I would go next in my blog.
And so for inspiration I started checking out the internet. And I kept looking and reading. All to no avail. So, then I prayed for God to let me know what I should write about.
Until it suddenly hit me!
In all the mess of this election and all the stuff (not wanting to use the word I am really thinking) going on with that, what is the one thing missing from this month? At least from my view...
Of course! The signs of Thanksgiving!!!
How refreshing are the thoughts of the holidays coming to take our minds off the stuff we have been watching on tv and listening too.
Well, at least for some. I know and empathize with those whose holidays won't be so great, with the economy the way it is now. And I certainly do not undermine those feelings of sadness when the holidays won't be so happy. And for those that even when the economy is good, some have problems that are sad.
The good news though is that we have so much to be thankful for even if we can't buy a lot for our families or eat the most wonderful holiday meals.
And we owe that to our Lord Jesus who gave His life to make us free from the law of sin and death. (Romans 8:2) Really what more can we ask?
For the rest of the month-according to what days I can actually be here, I will try to post some interesting and informative things about Thanksgiving and will also post bible verses that we can meditate on that can remind us to be thankful to God for all that He has done.
I do have family coming to visit me this weekend from Panama City and I may just be able to post a scripture of the day some days. So please bear with me as we get to Thanksgiving Day knowing that without God, we would not have anything to be thankful for that is any value.
Thanks for coming by today friends, I appreciate you. May God bless!
