20 For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.
21 Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.
. Our wrath does not do anything for God. Nor does it do anything good for us. And so we should strive to keep our anger in check. Sin leads us away from Him. We give into our own greed and selfishness when we knowingly do what we know is not good for us. But He wants us to need to learn to trust in His goodness for us because it is He that saved us.
