James 1:23-24

23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:

24 For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.

James 1:23-24 is a Bible verse that says:

  • Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror.
  • After looking at himself, he goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like.
  • If anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks intently at his natural face in a mirror.
  • He looks at himself and goes away and at once forgets what he was like.
  • The one who looks into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and perseveres, being no hearer who forgets but a doer who acts, he will be blessed in his doing.

Again, I liked what the pastor called it when I was watching his service while at my relatives home a few weeks ago.

He said we need to "practice" our faith. Practice what the Bible teaches us. And that is the same as "doing" the Word.

What is the good of reading the bible if we do not put it into action?

Thanks for stopping by today, Friends. Have a blessed evening!
