Proverbs 1:8-9

My son, hear the instruction of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother:

For they shall be an ornament of grace unto thy head, and chains about thy neck.

Proverbs 1:8-9 emphasizes the importance of listening to parental guidance. It instructs children to heed their father's instruction and not forsake their mother's teaching, as these teachings are valuable and can lead to a fulfilling life. The verses metaphorically describe parental guidance as an ornament of grace for the head and chains around the neck, symbolizing the beauty and value of wisdom gained from parents.
