A Depressed Man that...

 Denied Jesus

Peter

  • Struggle: After denying Jesus three times, Peter was overwhelmed with guilt and sorrow.
  • Bible Reference: Luke 22:61-62, where Peter weeps bitterly after realizing he had denied Jesus.
  • Lesson: Even in our worst failures, Jesus offers forgiveness and restoration, as seen when He reinstates Peter in John 21:15-19.

Peter Disowns Jesus

54 Then seizing him, they led him away and took him into the house of the high priest. Peter followed at a distance. 55 And when some there had kindled a fire in the middle of the courtyard and had sat down together, Peter sat down with them. 56 A servant girl saw him seated there in the firelight. She looked closely at him and said, “This man was with him.”

57 But he denied it. “Woman, I don’t know him,” he said.

58 A little later someone else saw him and said, “You also are one of them.”

“Man, I am not!” Peter replied.

59 About an hour later another asserted, “Certainly this fellow was with him, for he is a Galilean.”

60 Peter replied, “Man, I don’t know what you’re talking about!” Just as he was speaking, the rooster crowed. 61 The Lord turned and looked straight at Peter. Then Peter remembered the word the Lord had spoken to him: “Before the rooster crows today, you will disown me three times.” 62 And he went outside and wept bitterly.

💗💗💗

That had to be a terrible realization for Peter when he had just the evening before he had told his friend that he was ready to go to prison with him.
And when the time actually came, he declared he did not know Jesus.

The good news is that Jesus demonstrates the very thing that he still does with us as believers today.

He forgave him. And not only that, but it would be Peter that Jesus gave a very important mandate.

And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. Mathew 16:18

Isn't it amazing that these words spoken by Jesus so many years ago still ring true today?

Oh, the enemy has created many false religions to get us to believe. So many have fallen for them. Even in many, they use the name of Jesus to promote their teachings. And some use just enough scripture to bring people and their money in.

However, so many people do not know they are being misled because they don't read their Bibles to hunt for the truth themselves.
They would rather someone else tell them what it says, so they don't have to take the time to study it for themselves.

Some have asked what denomination is the true one.

But there are no true denominations aside from the gospel of Jesus Christ.

If a church does not teach or preach that gospel, it is teaching a different gospel that is not Jesus Christ.

And woe be unto those that follow any gospel that is different. Because that is taking them on a road to destruction.

One day all these other religions will be abolished, and those who follow them will be as well.

There will be one church left standing. And those who follow Jesus will be with Him in paradise.

Not my words, friends. It's in the Bible.

Thanks for coming by today, Friends. I am back. It had been a different past few days, but everything is back to normal. Praise God.

Thanks also for your patience with me.  Have a blessed day!
