watched as her Son Jesus was murdered on a cross!
11. Mary (Mother of Jesus)
- Struggle: Mary faced deep emotional pain when she witnessed her son, Jesus, being crucified on the cross.
- Bible Reference: John 19:25, where Mary stands near the cross, watching her son suffer.
- Lesson: Mary’s faith and trust in God remained strong even during the most painful and confusing moments, showing us that faith can endure through suffering.

That passage in John 19 does not go into much detail about what Mary was going through as her Son was dying. But none of us can comprehend the horror of it in our wildest imagination. Nor would we want to.
He was indeed murdered by the Roman Government. But even though they thought they were taking His life, the truth of it was that He had freely given it. For the sins of the people taking it. For the sins of the world. For the sins of you and I.
And Mary and His best friends had to watch as He was tortured and killed.
As a mother myself, I can not imagine how she must have felt. All she had to look forward to now-or so she thought-was preparing his dead body to be buried.
Of course it didn't quite end that way. For Jesus was resurrected, but it makes me wonder how she felt when He went on to heaven to be with God in heaven. Did she mourn Him then? Or did she just accept that she would go to be with Him upon her own death?
I suppose that is one of those mysteries we won't know until perhaps we get to know when we ourselves get to go to heaven.
Thanks for coming by today, Friends. This study on Depressed People of the Bible ends today with Mary, because for the next few days I will be posting about Jesus/Easter. Maybe I will resume this study after Easter at some point. Because there are other people that went hard times as well.
Have a wonderful and blessed day today,
