Proverbs 3:1-2

My son, do not forget my teaching, but keep my commandments in your heart, for they will prolong you life for many years, and bring peace and prosperity. Proverbs 3:1-2

How many times have you imparted wisdom to your children? If you have taught them how to look before crossing the street, or if you have taught them to save money. Or if you have even made sure they have healthy diets as they grow.

These are just a few of the ways we teach wisdom to our children.

That is what Solomon was writing about in Proverbs. He wanted his son to never forget the things that he taught him. Because Solomon, being a faithful servant of God, was himself very wise.

Sometimes in our dealings of life, we don't always make good decisions. Sometimes we make them for the wrong reasons and end up regretting them.

My own father gave me some advice when I was a teenager. He told me not to do something. But because I wanted something badly enough, I did not listen to his advice and I came to find out that he had been right. I had made a bad choice and I suffered the consequences for many years.

We need to know how to make choices according to God and his word. But how do we do that?

James 1:5 says, if anyone lacks wisdom, to ask it of God because God gives it generously without finding fault.

If we do that, and follow God's commandments, they bring us peace, prosperity and long life instead of heartache, sadness, poverty and even death.

Some of us do not learn it very early in our life, going years without God's blessing. Believe me. I know. But God is faithful and there is always possibility for change. No matter what season we are in, in our life. As we ask God for his wisdom instead of the worlds, we can count on him to give it to us generously.

August 8, 2019 Promise: In God, whose word I praise, in the Lord whose word I praise, in God . I trust and am not afraid. What can man do to me? Psalm 56:10-11

Promises for August 6, 2019

And the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the Lord has spoken it. (5)

Hast you have not known, have you not heard?  That the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth, does not faint nor has he grown weary? There is no searching of his understanding. He gives power to the faint; and to those that has no might, he increases their strength. (28:29)

But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary, they shall  walk and not faint. (31)

Lord, for all those that are weary, including myself; please help us to learn to wait upon you. To have the wings as eagles and to and walk without being weary and to run without becoming faint.
Because Lord, you know that sometimes we are so much about being weary to the point of being faint. Bring to us your strength and help us find an enter strength and a peace that comes only from you. Thank you, God. Amen!

What Has Satan Stolen That Belongs To You?

Wow. What a question for this week. He has stolen a lot from me. My peace, my joy, my health.

We have made this trip back to our home state because there are still things that need to be done here. We are in the process now of doing some cleaning and getting ready to paint and maybe do a few other minor repairs so that we can sell our home.

And quite a feat it is at the ages we are now in our lives.

I had suffered some health problems starting a couple hours away from finally getting here the night we were still on the road. My husband had been driving straight through for hours. I won't try to go into what was going on with me, but let me tell you. It was something new to me and it was scary. I did find out what it was but it took at least the 24 hours after we got home to finally get over it. I kept praying for God to heal me, because coming in and looking again at what needs to be done here, did not help me at all. I had looked around and knowing I needed to get busy, I also knew that right at that time, it was not going to happen.

My peace had been stolen. For awhile any way. But....I am thankful that the enemy did not steal my sleep that next 24 hours. I was exhausted and needed it and God did get me through it so that my body had time to heal.

I didn't really get any energy back though, and felt out of sorts in trying to do some things yesterday. I had to finally give up. It wasn't until early this morning that I realized that we need a plan to forge ahead on getting this done.

My thoughts went back to the scripture in Hosea 4:6. My people perish for lack of knowledge. I had decided that this situation was not going to kill me if I didn't have a plan. Perhaps ulcers, but not kill me.

But then I read it in the KJV and it says: My people are destroyed for a lack of knowledge.

Ah. Maybe that means something a little different. We needed an updated plan to get these things we are dealing with on the move to go ahead. If we don't ask God for a plan, it could surely give us ulcers. Or it could destroy us if we let it. It could cause us so much stress that it would destroy our minds or health or even our marriage.

A little radical maybe? Not for me. I could see any of those things happening because we have been under tremendous stress and if we let them by not having God's plan, any of those have the potential for being. And it is because we have let Satan steal them from us.

So I am asking God for his plans and also asking those I trust to pray for us in being able to execute them according to his will. Because I do not want to ever have to go through again, what I went through just a few short days ago. And with that, I have gotten a lot of peace back that Satan had stolen.

What has Satan stolen from you? Your home? Your job? Your family? Any of your blessings? He will if you let him. And it is never pretty when he does. But God is ready to restore them to you when you ask. If you ask his will and know that he will do it in his time. He will do it. Because his word says he will.

August 4, 2019 Promise: Therefore I tell you, whatever you have asked for in prayer believe you have received it and it will be yours. Mark 11:24

Are You Sitting on the Fence?

Promise for August 3,2019 "Remember what happened from long ago, for I am God and there is none other; I am God and there is none like Me. I distinguish the end from the beginning and ancient times from what still is to come, saying: 'My purpose will be established, and I will accomplish all my good pleasure.'" Isaiah 46:9-10

If we are to believe God's word, then this verse knocks down any god or goddess that anyone, from the beginning of time to today or in the future, that people worship as their god(s). There is no other then the God of the bible. What one of them can bring to life a man from the dust? Which ones can call the universe into being? Which of any of them can forgive us of our sin and give us a place, a home with him in heaven when our lives our over here?

None of them. If it is things of this world we seek, we are so lacking because they will get us no where and at best may give us only a temporary satisfaction. At the worst, they surely will not get us to heaven some day.

Joshua 24:15 tells us to choose this day whom we will serve. Who do you serve? Make the right choice for it is not by chance where you end up. If you do not chose God, your choice has been made. But God is waiting for you to choose him and if you do not do it right now, you are not guaranteed another minute before it would then be too late. Don't sit on the fence waiting to decide at a later time. Choose now. Before it is too late for you.

On My Way

Hello Friends,

For the next few weeks I  will not be posting a regular blog. We are leaving today to go back to our home state to settle some things there, concerning  And so for at least a couple of weeks, I will try to at least post a scripture every day until I get back to the usual ones.  So I hope that you will stick with me during this time.  Please keep us in your prayers as we take care of the things we need to do to finally settle in our new home.

In the mean time, thanks so much for your support of reading this blog as I have considered it a privilege to bring to you a bit of God's word every day. He is so real to me and I am so blessed to have shared him with you.

God's Armor conclusion The Sword

• ...and the sword of the spirit which is the word of God. Ephesians 6:17 

The last piece of weapon in these scriptures that we need as Christians, is the sword of the spirit, and that is because it is the word of God.

As the Roman soldiers of their day used the swords in battle, they were both an offensive and defensive tool in their hands.They were used for both protection from the enemy as well as to attack and kill their enemy.  But to use them effectively, they needed training on how to use them, to get their maximum benefit.

Paul described the sword as the word of God. Because just as soldiers needed them in battle to do their enemy harm, we as Christians need to know how to use God's word effectively in our walk with him, to destroy our enemy the devil.

We can't see him physically, but we know that spiritually he and his demons are around trying to destroy our faith in God, and do other damage to his Kingdom. In learning his word, we can be effective in it by becoming strong to withstand the attacks that Satan tries to launch at us.

Hebrews 4:12, tells us that the word of God is living and active and sharper then any double edge sword. A double edge sword is a very dangerous weapon, and so is the word of God to our enemies in the spiritual world, if we know how to use it properly.

And so in conclusion, these 6 weapons of our warfare against our enemies, are essential to our being able to withstand all that they try to use to destroy us. We need them all, just as the Roman soldiers did so long ago. We wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against rulers of darkness, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take on to you the whole armor of God that you may be able to withstand in the evil day...Ephesians 6:12-13.

It is not enough to just become a Christian. If we want to win the battle against our enemies in the spiritual world, we need to know how to protect ourselves against them.

July 29, 2019 Promise: Blessed is he that endure temptation,: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord has promised to him that loves him.
