Blessing or Cursing? (part 1)

14 Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not. Romans 12:14

We have all had someone that have hurt us.

But then what is someone to do with Romans 12:14?

When they do?

In my extended family there is a cousin whose daughter got into a relationship with a man that turned out to be not only a drug addict but a drug pusher.

He got her daughter addicted and long story short she abandoned her son (which grandma took custody of), broke into mom's home with boyfriends help and stole things and then wrecked her home, and daughter has had nothing to do with her since. What once was a close relationship between the two, has in the last few years, h been pretty much non-existent.

And it nearly has broken mom's heart.

Mom, being a Christian, one must ask "how can she forgive or bless a daughter that has done these things to her?"

Because in the past year, the daughter has served time in jail and a halfway house and then went back to the druggie boyfriend. And though mom had tried to talk to her during this time to let her know that she still loves her, daughter has rejected her still.

And of course, it has hurt her mom the worst kind of hurt that a child can give to a parent.

In tomorrow's post, I will try to get a bit deeper into that question of what we are to do with someone that has hurt us. How can we forgive them. How can we bless them.

There must be a way because Jesus asks us to.

But how?

Thanks for coming today, Friends.

Speaking of blessing,
