The Lord's Prayer (part 3)

After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

10 Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

11 Give us this day our daily bread.

12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

13 And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.  Mathew 6:9-13

I spend prayer time outside on my patio right after I get out of bed in the morning. When life is peaceful. Now and then though, when I get  up after a night that I haven't slept well, it is hard to start praying. My thoughts are jumbled and my brain a bit foggy.

That is no reason to not pray though. And it is these kinds of times when I pray the Lord's prayer. It helps get me centered on God.  Amazingly because I have it memorized, this prayer gets through my cloudy mind and it is a good prayer to go to at times like this or when I just do not know what to pray.  Or am still trying to get my mind awake and ready for the day.

Jesus said in verse 8 of that same passage this:

Be not ye therefore like unto them (the heathen): for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.

Jesus already knows what we are going to ask. So, do I really need to ask or tell Him what I need?

And if so, why then does he want us to tell Him?

Maybe you already know the answer to those questions. But if not or even if you need a refresher in that area, plan to come back tomorrow. I will answer them then.

Until then, have a blessing filled day. Thank you for stopping by

.
