Ephesians 3:12-

And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:

10 To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God,

11 According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord:

12 In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him.

13 Wherefore I desire that ye faint not at my tribulations for you, which is your glory.

14 For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,

15 Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,

16 That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;

17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,

18 May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;

19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.

20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,

21 Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.

I got a call from my friend a few days ago. She lives in my home state and so we don't see each other often. Nor do we talk by phone much either. We do text each other but her call was sort of a surprise.

It turns out that her husband may have cancer. Today he will be going for a MRI, but it doesn't look very promising.  She is a Christian. Her husband may not be. And she is struggling with not knowing if she has the strength to go through what may be coming.

To me, the fact that they know ahead what may be coming, (though I sure don't put her down for the way she is feeling), really is a blessing. It will hopefully give him time to get it right with God, if he so chooses.

God may be giving him a chance to know ahead that his time really is short because I know first-hand what it feels like to not get that opportunity with my own husband, whose death came unexpectedly.

If indeed this man needs forgiveness from God, I believe he is blessed that God has not given up on him and is calling him to repentance before it is too late.

At the same time, He may be giving my friend a heads up to really begin to know God's strength as He prepares her for what may lie ahead. That in itself is a blessing even though it may not seem like it.

She will not be shocked when his life passes into eternity. But in my own experience, it is better to know ahead than to have it happen suddenly and without warning and perhaps ask the question " What do I do now?" For you see, God already knows what is ahead for all of us. He will get in her though it and direct her paths no matter where they lead.

Still it is still scary to know that he may leave her. And I understand that. But the One person that we know that will never leave or forsake her, will keep her through whatever comes.

She just needs to know she can trust Him as we pray for her husband during this time.

Thanks for coming, Friends. Have a blessed day
