Guard Your Heart

Bible quote

February is the month of love. But love is not all paper hearts, flowers, and candy. Love is a real emotion that takes tender loving care. It needs to be nurtured and respected. God created it because he is love. Too often, some of us the fall into the temptation of "falling in love" with the wrong type of people. Sometimes that is not so much love as it is lust. But if we fall in love with the wrong person, we open ourselves up to so much pain and hurt. And as you know, that can be both physical and/or mental pain. That is why it best to wait on God to bring into our lives, the person he wants us to be with. I know that isn't easy sometimes. However, it is worth the wait if we don't get in a hurry and try to get ahead of God. He has our best interests at heart and we need to listen to his voice in our lives so that we don't make the mistake of ending up with someone that will end up hurting us in the long run. We need to guard our hearts and not let them be taken advantage of. God is faithful and if we desire the good things he has for us, and if we wait upon him, he will give them to us because he loves us.

 Quote of the day:

A worthy person--honest, faithful, committed, capable of facing challenges, transparent. One who is capable of what intimate relationships require. Kind. Humble, not arrogant or condescending. One who knows that infatuation and addictive infidelity is not love. One who thinks about the impact of his words and actions on others.
