Luke 22:44

Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless, not my will, but thine, be done Luke 22:42

Jesus was at a vulnerable time of his earthly life.

He was about to be crucified.

Did he want to skip this part of it?

Was taking the shame of a godless world really his lot in life?

Why did HIs Father make Him go through it?

The answer to that last question is that God did not make him go through it.

Jesus did it because it was our only hope of salvation.

It was His lot in life, and He knew it from the very beginning of man's life.

You know that time in the garden when Adam and Eve took it upon themselves to disobey God because Satan told her she could be "Like God."

What can we learn from His prayer then to His Father besides knowing these thigs?

I have a relative that has to make a very serious decision.

It's not an easy one for her to make.

But she is asking God's will

Not her will be done.

But God's.

All our lives we have to make decisions.

Sometimes we just don't want to do what we believe God wants us to do.

Never-the-less Father

Not my will, but yours be done.

That should always be our prayer.

Because the result can be blessing.

Or it can bring something we don't want.

Maybe a curse.

Maybe depression.

Maybe loss of hope.

Which would you rather have?

Thanks for coming, Friends.

May you find God's favor today
