Mark 9: 17:24

17 And one of the multitudes answered and said, Master, I have brought unto thee my son, which hath a dumb spirit.

18 And wheresoever he taketh him, he teareth him: and he foamed, and gnasheth with his teeth, and pineth away: and I spake to thy disciples that they should cast him out; and they could not.

19 He answered him, and saith, O faithless generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him unto me.

20 And they brought him unto him: and when he saw him, straightway the spirit tare him; and he fell on the ground, and wallowed foaming.

21 And he asked his father, How long is it ago since this came unto him? And he said, Of a child.

22 And ofttimes it hath cast him into the fire, and into the waters, to destroy him: but if thou canst do anything, have compassion on us, and help us.

23 Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.

24 And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.    Mark 9:17-24

💖💖💖

The child in this account was clearly in trouble. He was suffering. And his dad, who loved him suffered along with him because he could not stand to see this in his son.

And so, he asked the disciples to cast this thing out of the boy. And for some reason, they could not. So, he asked Jesus to do it, if Jesus could.

And what did Jesus say to him?

"If you can believe, all things are possible."

And the father answered and said,

"I believe. Help my unbelief."

Friends sometimes we have trouble believing God can so something for us that we need Him to do.

Sometimes we even wonder if He will.

But in Mathew 17:20, Jesus tells us that if we have faith the size of a mustard seed, our mountains can be removed. And that is all this dad needed for his son. Faith the size of a mustard seed. And he had it.

And the boy was delivered of the evil that had been in him.

When we think we have no faith.

When we do not believe that Jesus can or will do something we need him to do.

We need to be reminded of this account.

That it doesn't take much to believe.

We just need to ask Him to help our unbelief.

What we ask may take time.

It may take patience on our part.

But God will do it for us.

If it lines up with His will.

And in His way, he will do it.

Thanks for coming by today, Friends.

Have a blessed day
