The Account of Jesus' Death and Resurrection Acts 1

...Jesus began to both do and teach until the day he was taken up, after that through the Holy Ghost, had given commandments unto his apostles whom he had chosen; to whom he had also shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs being seen of them forty days and speaking of the things pertaining to the Kingdom of God and being assembled together with them. commanded not to leave Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, saith ye, ye have heard of me. For truly, John baptized with water, but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost, not many days hence.

When they therefore were come together, they asked of him saying, "Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom of Israel?" And he said unto them,"It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father is put in his own power. But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost will come upon you: and ye shall be my witnesses. both in Jerusalem and in Judea, and in Samaria and into the most uttermost parts of the world.

And when he had said these things, while they beheld, he was taken up and a cloud received him out of their sight. And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold two men stood by them in white apparel, which also said, "Ye men of Galilee, why stand gazing up into the heaven? This same Jesus, which is taken up into heaven, shall come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven." Acts 1: 1-11

Jesus had been been seen by people, and been with his disciples for 40 days after being raised from the dead. There was no mistake of what had happened. The chief priests and rulers of the day could lie and fabricate all they wanted to, but that did not stop God from the plan that he had from the beginning of time. His plan for all humanity had taken its course, right up to this day. And there were too many witnesses that verified it that it could not be doubted.

Next up, some questions about the account of John and Acts. Hope you will be back. God bless!
