We Are Not In The Same Boat

Hello Friends. I have not said anything in light of what is happening in the world today concerning the  Cononavirus (COVID019). And in lieu of posting John's Account, part two for today, I am going to post something that a friend had sent me which I have found to be very fitting with what is going on around us. Actually, it could be for any bad situation we find ourselves in, but whoever wrote this did mean it for a time such as this. It gives us something to consider as we go on from today and beyond in our lives

We Are Not In The Same Boat
I heard that we are all in the same boat,
But its not like that.
We are in the same storm.
but not in the same boat.
Your boat may be shipwrecked,
and mine might not be.
Or vice versa.
For some quarantine is optional.
A moment of reflection,
of re-connection,
easy in flip flops,
with a cocktail or coffee.
For others,
this is a desperate financial
& family crisis.
For some that live alone,
they are facing endless loneliness.
While for others,
it is peace,
rest
&
time
with their mother, father, son's & daughters.
With the $600 weekly increase
in unemployment,
some are bringing more to their
households more money for their households, than they were working.'
Others are working more hours for less money due
to pay cuts or loss in sales.
Some families of four
just received $3400,
from the stimulus while other families of four saw $0
Some were concerned about getting certain candy for Easter,
while others were concerned there would be
enough bread, milk and eggs for the weekend.
Some want to go back to work,
because they don't qualify for unemployment,
and are running out of money.
Others want to kill
those that break
the quarantine.
Some are home spending 2-3 hours a day helping their child with
online schooling.
While others are spending
2-3 hours a day to educate their children
on top of a 10-12 hour workday.
Some have experienced the near death of the virus
some have already lost someone from it,
and some are not sure if their loved ones are going to make it.
Some have faith in God and expect miracles during this 2020.
Others say the worst is yet to come.
So Friends, we are not in the same boat.
We are going through a time,
when our perceptions and needs
are completely different.
Each of us will emerge
in our own way, from this storm
to see what is seen at first glance.
Not just actually seeing we are all on different
ships during this storm
experiencing a very different journey.

Friends, I can only add to this, that the best ship to be on is the one that has Jesus as it's Captain.
Mark 4:35-41 tells us that when we trust in Him, he can and will calm whatever storms we are going through. What kind of boat are you on today? Are you trying to sail your own and find yourself sinking. Perhaps you feel like you might as well just jump over and get it over with. I am here to tell you that if you let Jesus into your boat and take over as your Captain, he will not let you sink and instead he will become the Anchor that will hold your boat secure. NO MATTER what storms you are going through. How about it? Do you have him in your boat?
God Bless
