Luke 23:34

Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. Luke 23:34

It was a reviling scene being played out that day. The day that Jesus Christ was hung on the cross. The leaders of the day thought they were removing Him from the world. Satan was no doubt laughing at the mockery of it all. After all, he was winning. Wasn't he? All around Jesus, at the foot of his cross, people were blaspheming God's Son.

The One that was dying to save them.

And yet, he prayed for His Father to forgive them because they simply did not know what they were doing.

Of course, we know the rest of the story. The leaders did not remove Jesus. Satan did not win. And what about those that were blaspheming Him?

An interesting question. Perhaps we can delve into that a bit deeper. And so tomorrow I plan to do that.

In the meantime, thanks for coming by today, Friends. May God bless your morning and may you think upon His goodness all the rest of the day.
