Heaven Has Everthing to do with it..What does Revelation tell us about Heaven? (part 6)

Heaven. Is it a real, honest to goodness place? Or just a figment of someone's wild imagination?

To many of us, we know it is a read honest to goodness place, where those saved have a real honest to goodness citizenship and we eagerly await the return of Christ to take us there. Philippians 3:20

. It is the dwelling place of God. Psalm 33:12

And so what do we know of it according to the bible?

Who is there right now? We know God is. It is his dwelling place. We know Jesus ascended there after his resurrection and sits at the Father's right hand.
We know the angels are there in numbers too large to count.
We know that all of the Old Testament saints that trusted in Christ even though they did not perhaps fully understand are there.
And we know that saints from those days on, who have fully trusted in Christ, are there.

We know that the city of God is made of pure gold with beauty that is unimaginable. And that there are animals there. Perhaps some of our own.

But what else can we know about heaven?

Our bodies will be perfect there. We will be who we were meant to be. Disease will not be there and so someone that has died of cancer will be without it. We will not grow old and our bodies will not deteriorate as they do here. We will know each other there.

What will we do there? The bible is not clear about that exactly but on earth, God has given us each different gifts of talents that we are good at. It stands to reason that it will not be boring in heaven either. And in fact, whatever we are good at there will be much more perfect then it is here.

The book of Revelations says there will be music, and singing in heaven. And we will worship God there.

We will be clothed in white robes. We will attend the marriage supper of the Lamb. We will receive the due rewards that he has promised us.

These are just some of the things we will experience in heaven. There will be no doubt of much more and no end to them. And I think some  of my personal favorites that I will have will be this:

And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying: “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man, and He will live with them. They will be His people, and God Himself will be with them as their God. 4He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the former things have passed away.” 5And the One seated on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” Then He said, “Write this down, for these words are faithful and true.”…Revelations 21:3-5

Imagine it, friends. We wil be His people and He will be with us. He will wipe away every tear from our eyes, and there will be no more crying or pain.

I am anxiously waiting for that day to come. Are you? Because it will come. However, only if you are a believer that trusts in Christ, will you get to experience it. If you have not trusted him before, you can do it right now. Where ever you are at. Whatever you are doing. Just pray this prayer:

Prayer for Salvation. Accept Christ into your heart by speaking these words to God in all sincerity, repent of your sins and receive His gift of salvation.

Pray this prayer and if you mean it, all the benefits of heaven can be yours. Refuse to pray and believe and you will miss out and I assure you that if that day comes, you will not like the alternative.

Thanks so much for spending these last few days with me learning about heaven. Or just renewing what you already know about it. It has been my pleasure if it has benefited you in any way and I not only Praise God for that but I also hope above all that he richly blesses you because of it. Until tomorrow, take care!
