I am sure the above statement or statements similar to that have been and are being made by many people. And that is the farthest thing there is from the truth.
Jesus taught about hell. And in fact, he had more to say about heaven and hell than did anyone else in the bible.
In Luke 16:26, he speaks of a great divide whereby once we are in heaven or hell, we cannot cross over to the other side. That means if we go to be with Jesus, that is where we stay. We cannot cross over into hell. (Praise God) And likewise, those in hell cannot cross over into heaven.
And then in Mathew25:41 Then he will say to those on his left, "Depart from me you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels." (Imagine Jesus saying that to you or I.)
And yet, millions upon millions of people have already heard those words and had to go into that eternal fire. There are no parties there. Only eternal judgment for those that have not accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior before they die.
Revelation 9L1 describes hell as a bottomless pit, and 20:10, it says that those that the devil has deceived will be cast into the lake of fire and brimstone.
Mathew 13:42 speaks of those that will be cast into a fiery furnace where there will be wailing and mashing of teeth.
Mathew 13:42 speaks of those that will be cast into a fiery furnace where there will be wailing and mashing of teeth.
Folks there are no parties in hell. And there never will be. The grandest parties there are, are held in heaven where we see loved ones again and spend eternity with them and with our Lord Jesus.
Why would we want to make such a trade-off? I don't. How about you? Each person has to make that choice for himself. No one can do it for us.
Is there more that we might be able to learn about hell? I know it is not a pretty subject. But it is an important one, none the less. It is better to know now then it be too late that we find out. It is as one pastor said in a sermon, "Once we die, there are no exit doors." Our chances to go to heaven have ended. If we have not already made that decision, we will not be able to back out and change our minds.
I hope you will come back tomorrow for another look at what hell will be like for those that believe it a party. Or that it does not exist. Have a wonderful and blessed day in the meantime.
