Who Do You Say That I Am?

Jesus The Messiah, King of kings, Lord of lords, The Great I Am, Savior, Deliverer, Redeemer, Mighty Physician, Jehovah Nissi, El Shaddai, El Elyon, Adonai, Lord, Master......

The Pharisees and the Sadducees went to Jesus one day and asked him for a sign to prove to them who he was. They did not believe he was who he claimed to be. Jesus gave them this answer:

A wicked and adulterous generation looks for a sign, but none will be given it except the sign of Jonah.” Jesus then left them and went away. Mathew 16:4.

Jesus than simply turned from them and left with his disciples. And he asked them,

Whom do men say that I the Son of man am? And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets.Mathew 16:14-1516

But then he asked them who they say he is.

And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. Mathew 16:16

Simon Peter had given Jesus the correct answer. Jesus answered: Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.
And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock, I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. Mathew 16:17-19

Throughout the whole Bible, Jesus is called many names. And today he is still being called what he is not. Some call him just a great teacher or just a prophet. Many people don't call him anything because after all, he is a fairy tale. He doesn't exist. Does he?
I am sure that many many people that have passed over, wished that they would have acknowledged him as who he really is. Jesus the Son of the Living God. One day every knee will bow, and every tongue will confess that he is not only Jesus the Son of the Living God but also they will confess also that he is Lord. Philippians 2:10-11.
It won't matter then, whether we have thought he was just another man, a great teacher or a prophet. It won't matter what miracles we might have witnessed.
We will know who he really is and we will bow before him.
And so I ask you; Who do you say Jesus is? Because whatever your answer is, it has to be the correct one. And it will matter.

I would rather stand with God and be judged by the world, than to stand with the world and be judged by God.
May you have a wonderful day! Thanks for visiting today!
